It all began with a return
Like many of you, we lived abroad for years with the same certainty: one day, we would go home to build something in our country. That day came, and we discovered that returning to Morocco doesn’t end with unpacking a suitcase.
There was the administration, with its counters, its required documents and rules that change from one office to the next. A missing stamp, a certificate issued in the wrong place, and everything had to be started over.
There was the property we owned but couldn’t keep an eye on from afar, and the works that dragged on with no real follow-up.
And above all, there was the question of trust. Whom can you rely on when you are thousands of miles away? Everyone promised to “take care of everything.” Very few gave clear information, a clear price, a clear result. We chased intermediaries who each held one piece of the puzzle, and none of whom had the full picture.
The moment we understood
The lesson was simple: nobody can do it all alone.
Each of us had real skills, but each of us also ran into the limits of our own expertise. The project manager knew how to run a construction site, not how to untangle a legal file. The real estate specialist knew the market and the leases, not the tax or financial angle. The lawyer could secure a deed, but couldn’t follow a site visit. The administrative side needed someone on the ground who knew the institutions. And in the middle of it all, the client simply wanted one person to call.
The solution wasn’t to become experts in everything. It was to bring the right people together and have them work as a single team.
